Hock of ham, fresh mint and pea terrine with homemade piccalilli & toasted wholemeal bread.
Carpaccio of beef with pickled walnuts, beetroot, goats cheese & rocket.
Tomato, mozzarella, fresh basil & beetroot with a garlic & goats cheese dressing. (v)
Fresh salmon cured with Pernod, orange & dill served on a salad of marinated fennel & spinach with soda bread.

Wedding Checklist
18 to 12 months before
- Fix the date and time
- Have a budget conversation!
- Pick your wedding party, bridesmaids, ushers, best man etc.
- Start the guest list (create a database you can adapt/update)
- Hire a planner, if desired
- Reserve your reception and wedding venues
- Research photographers, bands, florists and caterers
- Purchase a dress and schedule fittings
12 to 8 months before
- Hire the photographer and the videographer – check if your church or wedding venue will allow photos/video to be shot
- Book the entertainment
- Book the caterers and discuss menus etc.
- Choose and order your bridesmaid’s outfits
- Reserve a block of hotel rooms for out-of-town guests
- Register your gift list
- Start thinking about a honeymoon – check your passports are in date
- Find a florist and order buttonholes, bouquets and arrangements for the church and reception venue
- Order invitations and envelopes
- Select and order your wedding cake
8 to 6 months before
- Plan the ceremony, discuss readings with the minister or priest and music with the musicians
- Book transport to the wedding venue and on to the reception for you and your bridal party
- Remind your fiancé to get his and the usher’s outfits
- Choose gifts for the wedding party
- Pick your wedding rings
- Check on the wedding invitations
- Choose and order your wedding favours
6 to 4 months before
- Purchase wedding shoes and start dress fittings
- Book a hairdresser and style consultation ( do this earlier if you’re planning to grow your hair)
- Book your make-up artist and trial appointments
- Choose your music
- Confirm the order of service with your priest or registrar
- Discuss hen and stag night plans
3 months before
- Finalise the menu and flowers
- Order favours, if desired
- Agree the final menu for your reception
- Print menu cards
- Find out if you need visas or inoculations for your honeymoon
- Start composing a day-of timeline
2 months before
- Organise the rehearsal and inform those who need to be there
- Check that your fiancé has organised his wedding clothes
- Try on your whole wedding outfit, including headdress, shoes and underwear
- Book any other beauty treatments (nails, fake tans etc.)
- Touch base again with all your suppliers
- Meet with the photographer
- Review the playlist with the band or DJ
- Send out the invitations six weeks before the day
- Have guest booklets printed, if you have a choir, they need copies too
- Have your hen and stag nights
1 month before
- Enter RSVPs into your guest list database
- Confirm numbers with caterers and do the seating plan
- Visit the dressmaker for your last dress fitting
- Email and print directions for drivers of transport vehicles
- Finalise the seating plan
- Purchase bridesmaid’s gifts
- Visit the hairdresser to try out hairstyles with your veil and tiara, and have your final cut and colour
Week of the wedding
- Reconfirm arrival times with suppliers and venues
- Send a timeline to the bridal party
- Pick up your dress
- Check in one last time with the photographer
- Book a spa treatment
- Break in your shoes
- Pack for your honeymoon
